Game Design
Over the past five years I’ve immersed myself in game design, theory, interaction and coding. Here’s a look into some of the projects I’ve worked on in my Bachelors, Masters and Freelance.

Project Reborn
This Art Direction Project was a collaboration between the Master's and Bachelor's students at DKA. The goal was for students to work as a team with a formal structure on a 3D project. We were tasked with setting up and managing a workflow and production pipeline within our teams. I took on several roles and gained valuable experience managing teams, and implementing visual /narrative consistency. The projects were created in Unity, and the usage of online assets was permitted.

As an
Art director
As an Art director, I had the vision to schedule and plan the game. Responsible for everything from deadlines to follow-ups on the team, coordinating tasks, and ensuring quality across the board. I had to find the most optimal way to create this slice of the game.
Some of the tasks I had included:
Keep overall visual idea.
Assign tasks through Trello.
Keep the project on track through daily meetings.
Make Art bible and visual guide.
3D artist. (Assets, 3D modular system)
Sound Artist. (All ambiance)
Sound Design / Narrative
All sounds in the game were made by me, using real-life recordings and mixing in FL-Studio.
The big air horn you encounter from the alien ship is a recording of the Danish air sirens that get tested once a year.
51 years ago, when human civilization was at a point of no return and we were heading towards total self-destruction, huge geometric alien structures appeared from the skies. With them, anomalies in the form of spatial distortions followed, which erased every piece of manmade media. Books, records, posters, and so forth were emptied and erased, and every human's mind was wiped. Selected humans were frozen down by the aliens, to emerge in a new world and start anew. These few humans are called REBORNS and start a new civilization on only their subconscious, alien-manipulated intuition. You are one of these REBORNS, and on your first venture into this new world, you encounter an old house...

Sound Designer
I was excited to delve into the world of sound design since I share a great interest in music and soundtracks. For this project, I was tasked to make a soundscape that would be in the background. It would serve as a medium to both communicate the state of the world and the worrying ambiance of this desolate world.
For the production, I resolved to play a bunch of instruments myself and record them in my home studio. The instruments I used entailed a didgeridoo, Japanese drums, and an old horn. Of course, I also recorded myself throat singing.
Add some sounds of dunes, and there you have it.
Fallen Eden
The year is 2050, and humans have turned earth into one big landfill. Now known as Limbus, it is populated by workers whose job it is to recycle salvageable garbage from the planet and send it to Eden, formerly known as Mars. As Eden is the new, perfect home of the humans, all workers strive to go there and will be able to as soon as they earn enough points, which they get from doing their jobs.
However, our main character Casey has stolen someone else's ticket, and plans on taking their spot on the spaceship to Eden, which leaves in just 5 minutes. But as Casey gets closer to the spaceship and Eden becomes visible, something seems to not be as it should...

HDMS. Riget
This game was made in collaboration with the Danish hospital, with a focus on kids with cancer. The purpose of the game was to activate the kids physically and motivate them to move around the hospital halls. By turning the hospital into a giant spaceship we wanted to disassociate the hospital from its intended use.

Throughout the production, I made different concepts for the spaceships involved in the game. For both spaceships, I also 3D modeled and textured them.
For the Big Spaceship asset, I used Google Maps to get a precise 3D model of the hospital, which I then used and integrated within the big spaceship, making it easier for the kids to reimagine their surroundings.
HDMS. Riget
Soon, the earth’s pollution will become uninhabitable, and the human race will flee to the stars. As the years go by the main ship HDMS. Riget grows to a huge size and becomes the “Hub ship” as smaller ships connect to its vessel. The smaller ships get tasked to go to planets and gather resources.
The name HDMS. Riget stems from the abbreviation we in Denmark use for royal vessels belonging to the queen/royal family. “Riget“ is the hospital in the middle of copenhagen with which we collaborated.

Trash World
This game was made as a small game jam with my fellow students at the Royal Danish Academy in just one week. The prompt was to make a pixel game in a world set in the future related to trash.
Pitch:
It’s been 400 years since any other colony in the Origin System interacted with Earth. A Mars colonist crash lands; destination, earth. He now must wander around to find out how the inhabitants of this planet live and look for a way to repair his ship.
